THE BRIEF
The brief combined a generous lawn area with separate spaces for seating and entertaining. Porcelain paving, composite decking and a covered pergola would make the garden more versatile, while raised beds and timber screening would define its boundaries. A series of arches would give the pathway a distinctive identity.

THE DESIGN
Four dark timber arches create a strong view along the stepping-stone path, with warm lighting tracing their inner edges after sunset. Raised sleeper beds separate the walkway from the central lawn. Grey paving and decking connect the garden’s different areas, balanced by natural timber and established trees.
THE BUILD
We prepared the garden’s levels and installed porcelain paving, composite decking and artificial turf. The bespoke timber pergola was built with an EPDM roof and slatted ends for shelter. Larch sleeper beds, boundary screening and four timber arches completed the structure, with lighting giving the walkway its evening glow.
